SURVEY STUDY ON PREFERENCE OF AUDIO VISUAL AIDS IN LECTURE CLASSES- A QUESTIONNAIRE SURVEY

Abstract

Background:  The formal lecturing classes are one of the oldest teaching methods that have been used widely in all educational courses and in schools teaching a class and delivering a lecture is made easy and better by the use of every eight such as Smartboard, whiteboard, overhead projector, PPT  and various audio visual aids for study preference by the students. The aim of the present study is to analyse the preference of audio visual aids in lecture classes.

Materials & Methods: A questionnaire comprising 15 questions was created using an online Google form and was circulated among 105 students in various schools and colleges. This survey was conducted within a week in the months of Feb 2021. All the students were asked to answer the questionnaire on the use of audiovisual aids for the various aspects of learning. Chi square test is used for data analysis. The results and observations were recorded in the form of pie charts and bar charts. 

Results: In our study, 86.7% people thinks a V eights helps in online classes and 13.3% people things it doesn’t help over 61 percentage of all the participants has said that in 15 to 20 minutes all of them losses their concentration almost everyone needed 15 minutes break for restarting it again and over 81 percentage of them as preferred black or white board teaching method over PPT. P value < 0.05 and is considered statistically significant.

Conclusion: The findings of this study has revealed that audio-visual learning process and black/white board holds pupil attention and they are complementary to school works as they (students) enjoy the entertainment and it gives out the special experience to learn it better. Hence, it can be seen that the measurable relationship exists between AV-AIDS in the learning process and learning capacity of the college students.
