KNOWLEDGE AND AWARENESS ON THE USAGE OF THE FULLY ADJUSTABLE ARTICULATOR- A SURVEY QUESTIONNAIRE

Abstract

Introduction: A dental articulator is a device that provides valuable diagnostic information and simulates mandibular boundary motions, and it can be useful in a variety of dental situations. A fully adjustable articulator is widely used in diagnosis, artificial tooth positioning, and the development of the occlusal surfaces of cast fixed restorations.The fully adjustable articulator is the most advanced tool for duplicating mandibular movement in dentistry. The study's goal was to gain a deeper understanding of completely adjustable articulators in dentistry.

Aim: The aim of the study is to create knowledge and awareness of the usage of Fully Adjustable Articulator among undergraduate student

Materials and Methods: A questionnaire was developed to provide information about fully adjustable articulators, and it was sent to 100 dental professionals. Undergraduates and postgraduates were among the dental practitioners. The questionnaire's statistics were gathered, and the findings were tabulated.Along  the completion of the questionnaire, a basic understanding of fully adjustable articulators was provided. 

Result: The study shows that only few people (16%) are using fully adjustable articulators on a regular basis, while most of the practitioners are not aware of it. Majority (40%) of them would

probably recommend the usage of fully adjustable articulators. Majority of the practitioners (2) were likely to buy a fully adjustable articulator.

Conclusion: A number of authors stress the importance of using articulators in dental practise. In cases of comprehensive oral rehabilitation, dental practitioners should always use fully adjustable articulators, as this can interfere with patients' mastication and cause even more harm, rather than addressing any current problem. According to the findings of this report, the majority of dental practitioners recommend the use of fully adjustable articulators. As a result, fully customizable articulators should be used frequently.
