A Case Report On Carcinoma Of Recto-Sigmoid Colon

Abstract

The incidence and fatality rates of colorectal cancer vary greatly around the world. Colorectal cancer is the third most commonly diagnosed cancer in men and the second most frequent disease in women worldwide. Globally, 1.2 million new cases and 600,000 deaths were estimated in 2008. People with colon cancer generally have no symptoms in the early stages. Changes in bowel habits, such as diarrhoea or constipation, or a change in stool consistency for more than a few weeks, rectal bleeding, persistent abdominal discomfort, such as cramps, gas, or pain, weakness or fatigue, and an unexplained weight loss are all common signs and symptoms of colon cancer. The cancer usually begins in the intestinal lining, but if left untreated, it can progress to the muscular layers under the lining and spread to other regions of the body via the gut walls. There are presenting the 40yr old women with carcinoma of recto sigmoid colon.

CLINICAL FINDINGS : She is the 40yr old  womencomplaining Pain in abdomen since 3 months,  weakness from 2 months,  nausea on and off from 1 months,  dull activity,  changes in bowel habits including diarrhoea,  rectal bleeding , abdominal discomfort,  cramps , gas and pain since 2 months.

DIAGNOSTIC EVALUATION: She is the 40yr old women . All diagnostic test are done. USG of abdomen,  CECT of abdomen  , CT scan of abdomen, colonoscopy with biopsy.

THERAPEUTIC INTERVENTION: Patient was treated with antibiotics,  anti pyre tic,  antacid, multivitamins , anticoagulant factor , Iron supplements, rich supplements of protein.

 OUTCOME:  patient general condition was poor. She diagnosed as a Carcinoma of recto sigmoid colon.

CONCLUSION:  She is the 40yr old women. After all diagnostic test patient diagnosed as Carcinoma of recto sigmoid colon.  The person getting affected because of the health condition . She get impact on her daily life, career and family.
