Examining Factors Associated with a Republican Governor’s Decision to Support Medicaid Expansion
Abstract
Whereas dependent variables in this section include expansion versus no expansion, the dependent variables constitute the factors perceived to determine the governors’ decisions regarding the subject under investigation. The specific factors, which entail the dependent variables, are investigated and include Medicaid generosity, the state’s potential economic benefit, and uninsured rate; as well as public support for Obama, the Governor’s ideology, and the State Legislative Council. This section provides an analysis of the STATA output findings for determining their implications on the existing literature, as well as the extent to which the outcomes align or fail to align with the formulated hypotheses.
