Understanding Patient Identification through the Attitudes, Skills and Knowledge of Medical Practitioners
Abstract
In the selected event, a participant observation approach was used to examine interactional attributes such as communication, responsibility, and the level of care. The approach involved observations and participation in ongoing activities while recording the observed events. Notably, the technique was applied on nurses as a selected race, upon which an individual-based observation aided in selecting representatives from whom broad generalizations could be extended to the behavior and operations of other nurses. The overall lesson learned was that nurses are characterized by a sense of humor, professionalism, diligence, compassion and a deeper understanding of life. Furthermore, the event indicated that nurses do not give up and, they exhibit a sense of pride.
