An Interesting Case Of Subcutaneous Metastases From A Primary Ovarian Tumor
Abstract
Serous carcinoma of Ovary constitutes for 75% of ovarian malignancies.. Metastases to Skin and subcutaneous tissue is a very rare event occuring in 2-3% of cases1.Here we report a case of 63 yr old postmenopausal women presenting with subcutaneous metastatic deposits in the abdominal region and FNAC was done for the same. It showed a highly cellular smear of sheets and clusters of cells ,some in papillary pattern.Cells exhibited marked nuclear pleomorphism and hyperchromasia in a hemmoraghic background and a diagnosis of secondary metastatic deposits from serous papillary carcinoma of ovary was made.Vigilant and routine followup of patients after surgery and chemotherapy is mandatory in carcinoma ovary.
