Abstract

The healthcare industry is having a major deficit both in the actual collection of data and its usage, which will only worsen with time with the continuance of traditional methods of management. Cloud Computing along with the hand-in-hand infrastructure for collection of huge amounts of data can help achieve wonders and lead to many breakthroughs. 

Cloud Computing, with its power to can be the foundation for a nationwide database of Electronic Health Records as it has the necessary security measures that required with such a sensitive data. This will also assist in the already growing telehealth market. Patient’s data being accessible from anywhere will facilitate interoperability between hospitals, pharmacies, labs and patients alike.

Analytics of patient’s data using Big Data technologies will reveal new insights on treatment methods. Every patient will have customised medicines to provide just the right number of doses.  Public DNA sequencing will be feasible with the adoption of Big Data technologies and will eliminate genetically inherited diseases. 

It is due time the infrastructure is set up to make the most out of these powerful innovations.
