Abstract

Literature dealing with the theme of climate change and global warming is known as climate fiction.  This genre of climate fiction recurrently includes science fiction, dystopia and utopian themes, imagining the potential futures based on how humanity responds to the challenges created by climate change. Climate fiction is a form of hypothetical fiction that features a changed or changing climate as a major plot stratagem. Though writers have been unintentionally writing cli-fi stories and novels for the past few decades, the term came into practice more often only in the past decade.  In recent years, climate fiction has been gaining a lot of importance, probably bringing in a public awareness of the increasing climatic crisis. The authors in fact have taken it a moral responsibility to clearly warn humanity of any devastating threat. It would be appropriate to say that climate fiction is now a recognized literary genre, and, if conveyed well, it can help human beings to adapt to a rapidly changing world by teaching us skills to build emotional flexibility.
