Prevalence Of Stress Among The Nurses Working In Hospitals

Abstract

Nursing has become a female-dominated profession across the world. Despite the fact that adverse environmental conditions affect their physical and mental health severely but nurses continue to provide care to the best of their abilities. They need to adopt various coping strategies to deal with various problems. The experts from the field of Family and Community Resource Management can guide them for this. Prior to this, it is essential to understand, the stress management problems they are dealing with. A Descriptive research design was used for conducting the present study. The sample size comprised of 120 nurses from the selected hospital of Vadodara city by using Systematic Random Sampling technique. The scale was divided into two sections- background information and stress management problems experienced. It was found that more than one-half of the nurses were facing problems related to stress. Therefore, certain coping strategies were suggested in order to overcome stress and improve the quality of life.
