Big Data offers numerous opportunities to higher education institutions. This paper investigates the ascribes of big data that is pertinent to higher education institutions which explores the elements impacting the selection of enormous data and examination in higher education institutions and looks to build up the restricting variables frustrating the advantagesin the utilization of big data in higher education institutions in Ethiopia. The researcher surveys the main qualities and shortcomings of the higher education institutions in Ethiopia to make the SWOT (Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, and Threats) examination to decide the circumstance concerning the selection of the big data projects.
