Abstract

Global environmental problems have grown in recent years, notably after the industrial revolution's demise, which has resulted in increased environmental damage. Green HR initiatives help to overcome these problems. There is an increasing desire for a tactical green HR strategy that combines green management with HRM. The incorporation of Green HR initiatives into all HRM functions will undoubtedly benefit the organisation, regardless of industry. The information was gathered from 220 middle-level professionals in Chennai who worked as a Trainee, Analyst, Application developer, Associate, Product test expert, Programmer, Team leader, Software engineer, System engineer, System executive, and Technical analyst for various IT firms. The researcher utilised spss 16.0 version one - way ANOVA and cross tabs methods to explore the relationship and analyse the variation between Green HR initiatives and demographic factors of workers, as well as investigate the type and breadth of Green HRM initiatives performed by IT firms.
