Abstract

Precast concrete construction is very popular in the area of bridge and tunnel construction. In recent times the precast concrete construction in the field of multi-storey buildings has been showing an increasing trend. This paper aims at comparative study of RCC and Precast Structure. The Response Spectrum Analysis of RCC and precast construction of high-rise residential buildings (G+10) was carried out using STAAD-PRO software. The parameters such as time period, base shear, Storey Drift and Dynamics of both the structure as per modes of all storey’s were considered. It has been found that comparatively time taken to complete one oscillation is more for precast structure as compared to RCC and whereas base shear decreases in both X and Z direction as compared to RCC structure.
