An Experimental study to assess the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on cognitive edification about organ transplantation among adolescents in selected colleges of Pune city
Organ transplantation involves the surgical implantation of an organ or section of an organ into a person whose own organ is failing. Aim of the study:“Effectiveness of structured teaching programme on cognitive edification about organ transplantation among adolescents.” Methodology: Aquantitative descriptive pre-test & post-test was used in study. Purposive sampling was used for 60 adolescents sample size. Results: In experimental group demographics were Majority of 30(100%) are female participants,. Majority of that 20(67%) of participants are Hindu,.Majority of 30(100%) of participants are graduation,.Majority of 16(53%) of parents are in private job, .Majority 10 (33%) parents monthly income is Rs. 5,001- Rs.10,000. The total mean of cognitive edification is 15.13 in pre-test with SD 1.45. In control majority 56.67% sample are having medium cognitive edification. The total mean is 12.6 in pre-test with SD 2.01. In experimental group after intervention 100% adolescents were having high cognitive edification regarding organ transplantation. The total mean of cognitive edification is 18.03 in post-test with SD 1.51., control majority 46.67% sample are having high cognitive edification, 46.67% sample are having medium cognitive edification and 6.66% sample are having low cognitive edification. The total mean is 12.6 in post-test with SD 2.03. The results shows thatpre-test mean score was 15.13±1.455 which was increased in post-test mean cognitive edification score 18.03±1.51. As the calculated t-value is 7.3159 and p-value= ˂0.00001, where p˂0.05, Significant at 0.05 level of significance. H1 is accepting here significance of structured teaching programmer on cognitive edification about organ transplantation among adolescents at 0.05 levels. Conclusion: The descriptive analysis was done to assess the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on cognitive edification about organ transplant among adolescents which shows that structured teaching programme is effective method for enhancement cognitive edification about organ transplant.
